Create a magical space where you feel earthed & inspired

Who are we?

Vicky Portwain is a strong environmental advocate who has worked in environmental consultancy and renewable energy development for over 20 years before taking over the management of Pepperscombe livery yard and holiday cottages. Her partner in life is web entrepreneur Andy Mindel who develops various online and physical products.

We’ve lived in various places in the UK working and travelling across the globe as much as possible. We then decided we wanted to settle and live somewhere near the ocean so we moved to Shoreham-by-Sea, a stunning coastal town. After living there for 8 years we moved a few miles inland to the Steyning farm in 2017. Vicky’s brother Lee joined us from Southampton soon after. Lee is an artist blacksmith with 24 years experience and can be found forging, fixing fences and stables.

We have two beautiful kids which influenced our decision to move to the farm. We wanted them to grow up in nature, exploring, building dens and generally getting mucky.

Our dream

We want to create something magical together, a space where people can feel earthed and inspired. A place which is inspiring, fun, sustainable, artistic and connected. We have some way to go with our venture but gradually we hope that the vision will unfold and turn into something that we, our kids and community will love.
